B-29 Superfortress

The B-29 Superfortress was one of the most important inventions of the 20th century. It is the most expensive idea to come out of World War 2, coming in at a whopping 3 billion dollars; which was actually over a billion dollars more than the Manhattan Project to build the Atomic Bomb!

Kansas is at the center of it's remarkable story. Not only by being built at the Air Capital of the World, Wichita, but also by having army bases where pilots trained and took off from the once wheat fields of Kansas turned into runways. Come on a day of high flying adventure as we rediscover its roots.
